JASON VAN PATTEN

For as long as Jason Van Patten can remember he has had a passion for helping others. For over twenty years, Jason served in the Navy until most recently retiring in 2013. After his service, Jason earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and later spent five years in the insurance industry, investigating collision liability and negotiating settlements with attorneys. Deciding it was time for change, he discovered real estate—finding this career had an impact in more ways than one.

“I got into real estate because as a veteran I need to feel like what I do matters. As a real estate agent not only do I get to help people make one of the largest financial decisions of their lives, but our knowledge, conduct, and relationships shape part of the economy of our region. I decided to join OWN because I believe this is a place built on those same values. At OWN, we want to help each other become better to serve better.”

Outside of real estate, Jason and his family of five can be found enjoying the beaches of Virginia and the Outer Banks, and camping up in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
